30-06 and 308

I am trying to stay away from the larger magnums as the old '06 is about the far end of my tolerance. I have found that my 30 cals tend to like the Accubonds so I think I will stay with them. I have loaded the '06 with Rel 22 with 180s and that worked well. I have just sold the Ruger it was chambered in to be replaced shortly with the new Browning/Miroku Xbolt Hunter. I got the 308 just yesterday in a Micro Hunter both leftie guns. Sticking to my guns. :)
I like both cals and have yet to see a good argument that they will not do everything I need to here. Thanks for all the excellend feedback.

Hi Bogie. I draw the line at 30-06, too. The odd time, I'll grab the 7RM, but not often, no real need to. I think you're gonna love your new guns!
 
I too will vote for a 300 (anything) as the next step. The 06 is not much of a step over you 308. the 300s are a little more, without the recoil of the 338+. Cost is a little less too for factory ammo.
 
Hey two-dogs (now three??). Got the leftie Micro Hunter 308 Thurs and am just now mounting the Leupy off of my Ruger 30-06. Sweet little rifle. Lookin forward to working up better loads for this than the 99C would tolerate. Shes a beaut fer sure. Looking forward to its big bro. Apparently the closeness is mainly factory loads. Handloads and newer powders can add to that a fair bit.
Got me a crapload of Accubonds to play with and lots of brass prepped. Woo Hoo.

yeah, got three dogs now, but I ain't changing my name! It takes too long to build up a bit of a TR. I got some Micro Medallions and sure do like them, although I'd rather have the Hunter finish. Thx again for grabbing that 7-08 Micro from your gun show for me. She's a beauty and oh so accurate. Happy shoot'en and good luck hunt'en.
