I have been thinking about getting a black rifle, but at this point I can't justify paying 2400 bucks on a XCR (wanna keep it Non-res) just to have a black rifle. So, I got to thinking of buying another CZ-858 and "pimping" it out with black gear, including the B&T magwell adapter, while keeping my current one stock.

Looking for some feedback from anybody who has the adapter and has used it alot. I have read through the Wolverine thread on it, but there is a lot of questions there that are un-answered.

Other upgrades I was looking at were the Fab Defense recoil-reducing stock, and NEA upper handguard and wanting to mount a Burris Fast Fire II on top.

What you think fellow RedNuts (hmmmm when you say that outloud it sounds kinda dirty...)?

Given my personal experience with the B&T adapter, and the lack of positive reviews of it here, I'd be very leery about spending the money on it, if I were you.

Here's my non-res 858 after my experience:

You could try out the XCR rifle and sell it if your not satisfied with it.

I've always wondered how the XCR in 7.62x39mm would compare to the 5.56mm ones for out to 250 yards.

I've shot my XCR out to 500m quite successfully. Once you figure out your come-ups, it's not hard.

The biggest difference is that you have to think more about your POA/POI differences than you do with 5.56.

The adapter works well, as long as you loctite the jam nut.
One thing to note, with the AR stock adapter, the factory iron sights become very hard to use while getting a good cheek weld.[/QUOTE]

He was referring to the B&T mag well adapter for 10 round AR-type 7.62x39 magazines.

He disliked his black cz so much he got a xcr.

On the contrary, I quite like VZs. However, I don't much like VZs with mag adapters that can't get through a 10 round mag without a failure to feed. I would have been much happier not having to spend that much money to have a reliable rifle that shoots 7.62x39 from 10 round pistol mags.

I've had one malfunction (rounds hanging up in the mag) in about 1700 rounds through my XCR. I couldn't get through 15 rounds with my 858/B&T adapter without a FTF.

Your problem is solved, Non Restricted, can use a 10rd AR-15 pistol mag (I was told...) $799

The SU-16F is the Canadian version of the SU-16A2 and is a gas operated, semi-auto loading rifle chambered in .223 Rem caliber. It is intended to be the perfect everyman's sport and utility rifle. The rifling is 1 in 9 inches, right hand twist. Several unique features make the SU-16F a versatile sporting firearm, including:

• Chrome lined bore and chamber now standard
• An integrated Picatinny rail for mounting different sight systems.
• The stock can store spare magazines. Two 5 round magazines.

The SU-16F has a conventional, long-stroke gas-piston operation and utilizes the proven Johnson/Stoner breech locking system. It is compatible with standard AR-15/M-16 magazines. The reciprocating bolt handle and magazine catch are on the right side, while the push bolt safety can be changed to work from either side. Except for barrel and operating components, the SU-16F is made entirely of high impact reinforced polymer.

This is a non restricted firearm

Buller? Buller? Anyone else with hands on experience with the mag-well adapters?

I bit the first bullet and purchased an NEA upper handguard, and am in the works for getting a Burris Fastfire III.

I have seen that, but I am still on the fence with KelTec products (too much plastic for me ATM), and I would have to spend more on the parts just to get it to have a pistol grip, when both the CZ and XCR come that way. Good suggestion though, thinking outside the box for sure! :D

I would love one for $400.

Dream on ^^^

I know eh.

I think they are great guns for backpacking, or keeping in the truck, but I don't think it would be my range go to and there are some other really great guns when you're out in the field. I couldn't see paying $800 for it when I can grab a norc ar for ####s and giggles.

A non-restricted that takes 10rd pistol mags... for $799, don't think it's that bad at all. Depends on what you are looking for. It's definitely not a "Red Rifle".
