The 725 sporting and field have been out for a while now just wondering what those that have bought one or used one think of them .I will say that I loved mine from the first time I shot it( 725 sporting 30" bbls).how do you feel they compare to the other x25 guns .has Browning got a winner yes or no.my vote is yes .and would love to see them build one in 20 gauge.

Am I the only CGNer with a 725

LOL! The model hasn't made it's rounds far and wide, yet. My first hand impression was this is one 12ga Citori (read non-club like version field model :D) that felt/feels almost close to the Beretta 680 series field models in terms of dimension/profile and handling.

Browning could've simply left the schnabel forend design unaltered. Still very nice overall.

I find it to be better balanced between the hands and the barrels are more lively.but then again I have only ever fired a hand full of shells from a 625.

Hey gang,There is the Browning-sponsored shoot being held at the Fredericton Trap and Skeet Club this weekend and I'm sure Ross & Justin ( The Gun Dealer) Falkner will have one maybe two different models there to test. I, for one, am looking forward to putting oner in my hands........ I'll post on Sunday how it goes!

Would love to be going to the Browning summer classic but its not in cards.just becareful thats how I ended up with my 725 .I shot a demo gun at 75 bird sporting clays shoot and instancely loved the gun and the way it handled.

As promised,in an earlier post, I held and shot the Citori 725 at the Browning Summer Classic Sporting Clays Classic event held in Fredereicton, N.B. on Saturday August 11. I held both the 725 field, 28" and the Sporting model, 30" ported bbl. Both are unbelievable! They just felt so good in the hands instantly. I,personaly really liked the field model as it just felt like a feather in my hands. I shouldered it and it was right there. No manipulation or movement at all. I just can't get over how well it felt. Effortless swing and it points where you look. I can see I will need a lot of " brownie points" in order to get one of these to me on PEI. But it has been said that "it is easier to beg for forgiveness that to ask for permission....." We will see on that one soon....I'm sure!

rembolt... Are you a member at the Dartmouth Skeet Club? I am planning to go to Halifax next week and would like to shoot a few rounds as a visitor. Does the club allow this? Is there a website?

Where are you from BenL? If you are in the maritime provinces, call Ross or Justin Falkner. They may be heading to a shoot someplace in the maritimes and I'm sure he'll bring the demo's. They are at The Gun Dealer in MacAdam, N.B. You will have to google it. I'm sure you'll like the 725..........

I'm in the Ottawa-Gatineau area actually - I've been on TGD's website a few times; great inventory and prices! The only downside is the shipping cost to me, which cancels their better pricing. I haven't contacted them yet so can't say if they have any in stock or not (for anyone else who might be wondering).

I had planned on stopping buy a few shops in town, but got caught up doing a few things around the house and didn't have time too. Hopefully will be getting to it tomorrow :)

Will be interested in seeing first hand the differences (cosmetic) between the field and sporting models.

Cheers
B

I had a 725 field. It was a great gun. I felt it was far superior to the previous citori's. The trigger was great in it. It was very balanced and light. The only problem with it was it never really fit ME well. I replaced it with a Beretta which fits me far better. But I have no complaints about the 725, other then it is currently impossible to get the new Invector DS choke tubes.

Re Invector DS choke tubes - that is one of the advantages of purchasing the Sporting model as it comes with 5 chokes instead of 3 w/ the Field. Now is it worth the extra $500 just for that, I don't think so, but it is nice to have.

Didn't get the opportunity to check them out this weekend, but will have to get on that really soon!
