A true milsurp show in Ontario

Thinking of organizing a true milsurp show in the SWO area. Opinions?

No item listed below will be allowed:

Chinese knives, folk art, SWAT team wannabe gear, black hats that say FBI/Police/Security etc...,anything blaze orange, synthetic stocked anything, sausage presses, mystery beef jerky tables, grandpa's corroded reloads from the basement, s**t your wife made you bring to try and sell for her or she wouldn't let you go, and anything else that does not belong at a milsurp show!

What would be allowed:

Milsurp rifles, milsurp pistols, military vehicles, uniforms, badges, web gear, reference materials related to military history etc...

What do you guys think? Could a serious milsurp show in Ontario be developed and supported?

I would like to go, especially if it didn't start at 0700 and end at 1100 :p and get an admission stamp on my hand like the kind that my 10 yr old niece uses for "art" projects.
 
There was a show like that years past.....by a guy who owned the "tommy gun store". Think that was the stores name. It was a good show. All the stuff you talked about. Keep us updated. With Gunnutz, alot more people would no about it.
 
I would be in for it. Might even do a display.

I agree, I can only take so much wannabe swat gear, lame knives, and sausage presses! Seriously, who is buying this garbage?! When I go to a gun show, I want to see old guns!! Not modern made in China trash. We can do better than that!!

Make it somewhere populated, ie. close to the GTA

driving 2 hours to a town of 8,000 people for a gun show turns a lot of people off.
 
What's more important: indulging in your chosen hobby, or remaining as close as you can to that permanent crime wave we call Teronna?

It's pretty well what you describe. a good 80-90% Historical Militaria. There's just no selling/buying of firearms if that's what you are looking for.
Awesome 50's style Diner, loads of vehicles and re-enactors from all era's. (WW1, WW2, 'Nam) Some Civil war guys were seen last year.
Few awesome Artillery pieces, lots of vehicles.

We do a WW2 staged battle. Few vehicles take part, an artillery piece or two. Gets loud when you are laying next to it all, but it is mad fun and the public have always enjoyed it. (Always fun when the public occasionally "boo's" at us Germans)
I believe the 'Nam guys might have a battle of their own or something, I know they have a Huey.

Lots of stuff I could go on and on about why I love it, but check it out if you haven't.
 
If something so exclusive was financially viable it would likely already exist.

It's easy for people here to be canvassed and say "go for it!" when they have no skin in the game, so that means nothing.

Find a venue, and a small team of volunteers, and try it out. If you can't afford to lose the worst-case amount, it's a non-starter. If it's a go, you'll learn a lot.
 
Biggest arguments against it are Economics. :D Been to a lot of shows and get a little riled by all the miscelaneous stuff there. But hall rentals and all the associated cost are through the roof. Gotta pay for that by table charges, as well as entrance. Don't like the #### you're seing, go on to the next table. :D

I would go provided it is nowhere near the people's republic ofToronto. I refuse to grace that anti-gun blight on our province with a single tourism dollar.
