My case of Norinco 7.62x39mm Cartridges arrived today! It is 123 grain lead core FMJ in a steel case and it's non-corrosive. Thank you Canada Ammo!

The previous Norc silver box non corrosive had a mild steel slug surrounded by lead for a core, I still have the sectioned bullet somewhere. Can someone section one from this new batch to see if it's the same or not. From what I see in the OP's pics the boxes look the same.

I think you guys are thinking about the steel core bullet that they made. This doesn't appear to be the same.

I have been looking to get an SKS and have been researching the ammo I can use at my local range. They say no steel core. This clearly states lead core on the box, does that mean its range friendly?

I am very new to firearms so any info is appreciated.

Yes, that's the ammo you need.

Love this stuff. Used to have to tear down my SKS and clean for a hour after each trip to the range when using surplus, but I fired about 80 rounds of this ammo through my SKS and let it sit for 3 weeks and no rust or corrosion anywhere! Will be buying more soon!

Anyone else notice it smells like fresh corn when you crack the box open? Maybe its just me?

That's actually Anthrax. The Commies are getting their revenge on us, starting with the gunnutz! :D

But seriously, sometimes you get that with foreign ammo, especially Chinese stuff. I've had several spam cans of Chinese 7.62x39 corrosive surplus that smelled sweet, like cotton candy, almost. It's probably some packing preservative or something.

Nice looking crate. Hope the wood is from carbon-neutral, sustainable forest practices......

Norinco 7.62x39 at the indoor range, nice muzzle flash, ran 100% and is clean. Posted this before, but for you guys who want to buy...here it is.
