Mossberg 535 Problem.

Have a slightly unusual problem with my shotgun, I have a mossberg 535 field, pretty reliable except for after i fire the first shot and rack the slide to load it loads a shell and spits the following round out of the bottom. it only does this for the third round, so i fire 1, load another and lose the third round out the bottom, but it cycles and loads rounds 4-6 with no problem. any idea whats going on? i've checked the catch it appears fine, the spring seems to have consistent pressure. i'm really at a loss on whats going on.
 
I have the exact same problem with my 535. From what I was told, it is has to do with the fingers that hold and release the shells from the magazine. I phoned to Mossberg customer service about the problem and they said it should be covered under warrenty. I just have not had a chance to send it in yet for service...

Common Mossberg 500 535 series issue. Easy fix but you may feel more confident taking the gun for warranty repair. The left side shell stop/guide is likely the culprit. With the gun upside down looking into the receiver with the action closed you will see the stop. (note it will now be on the right side) I take the gun apart and bend the stop so it projects a little further into the receiver. I load a shell before the adjustment and then mark the case head with a sharpie where the stop engages it. Use this as a guide after adjustment. It takes very little bending to correct the issue. Too much as with most things is too much. Go slow and function test often. You will need to fire the gun at testing as recoil contributes to the problem until it is fixed. Again I do this and have had 100% success. Warranty work is also a correct and suggested. I live in a remote area with lots of mossbergs around and it is better for us to fix them at home.

I don't have my 535 anymore, but had to do the same thing to correct the same problem. Kind of bothersome when the gun is brand spanking new.
