Good day chaps,

I have had a penchant for the TT33 for quite some time now, and I've noticed it seems as if the supply of these fine firearms comes in waves. As it stands, it would appear that the most recent wave has almost run it's course. The dilemma I have is I am currently in the middle of a build and am concerned that purchasing a TT33 right now would delay the completion of the build and possibly make me lose out on an opportunity here and there, if they should arise.

So, I am requesting feedback from fellow CGNers who can relate to my plight...what would CGN do (WWCGND?) Finish my current build and wait for the next wave of Tokarevs? Or should I spring for the milsurp pistol? Or do both and go into foreclosure? Haha...ha......ha...I'm considering it.

Cheers!

Get one!
$180 and they are awesome guns.

They will outshoot most shooters' ability hence the bad rep they get for accuracy.

Mine shoots just as well as any 1911 I've ever handled.

They are reliable as hell. I have put over 6-700 rounds through mine and have yet to have a single stoppage

Hell buy one second hand on the EE save taxes and shipping as well and maybe even get some ammo thrown in the deal, that's what I did.

You will not regret it Comrade!

Just as a bit of heresay, I've heard on the grapevine that TT-33s are becoming harder to come by. Take with a grain of salt of course; after all, we know how difficult SKS's are to find after their forcasted drought... What I like most about the TT-33 is that it's one of the easiest firearms to clean after using corrosive ammo in it. Buy one, be amazed at how accurate it is, and turn some heads with that fireball!

Trying to predict the amount of surplus ammo around is tricky to say the least, considering how much misinformation there is out there. Prices seem to indicate to me that there's still years of it left to have, so I wouldn't be too worried. Plus, Prvi Partizan's relatively low priced factory loads mean that even when/if the surplus is gone, you need not scrap your pistol!

If the build is on track, I say to stay with it. Once you derail the build, it's harder to get all the motivation/enthusiasm going again.

Ok, so far it's 5 for the TT33 and 2 for the build...I wonder if this is how women feel when they're shoe shopping haha

Both; you will find a way to come up with the necessary resources. Trust me, I drive a '97 Cavalier...now you know why.

:D

If you really must have one from a supplier then I guess you should buy one now. But if you're willing to haunt the EE they do come up reasonably regularly.

Something to keep in mind is that a Tok is at best a plinker with very limited opportunity to use in any sort of match. This is due to the lack of any sort of safety on the proper ones. So depending on the rules to holster the gun you either have to not put one in the chamber and then rack on the draw or chamber one and safely lower the hammer to holster then #### on the draw.
