It's great from a work standpoint. Lots of work, newcomers aren't an issue with everyone so shorthanded they welcome all they can get. It's a busy place for a town of 30,000. It's as bustling as a city of 100,000. Lots of amenities. Water is good, no issues at all. Only an hour's drive to the provincial forest to the north, lots of wildlife and good hunting. Can't say about the fishing, only been out once since moving here 18 months ago but I hear there is plenty of good fishing nearby. The Lloydminster Fish and Game Club is a combined SK/AB club and is the largest club in Saskatchewan and 2nd largest in Alberta at 1600+ members, they have an indoor handgun facility, outdoor handgun and rifle ranges to 300metres, an outdoor archery 3D trail and an indoor archery-youth centre, two stocked fish ponds and a number of conservation projects around the area. Membership is $35/year. There is also a Trap and Skeet club with a 6 trap fields and 1 skeet field, they shoot Monday evenings and membership is $10/year. Both ranges are within 10 minutes of town. There is a sporting clays facility 15 minutes from town named Hidden Ridge Sporting Clays, I don't have much information on it and though I have not yet been to it I have viewed it from the road and it looks like a superb facility, there is some great looking stations.
Hope this helps?
