Mossberg 500 Camo 3 Barrel Combo ?

I'm looking to buy my first field gun, and found these very reasonably priced. Anybody have any experience with this shotgun? I like the fact that it comes with 3 barrels, a rifled one for slugs, a 24" for turkey, and a 28".... How reliable are these shotguns?

Also, my girlfriend shoots 20 ga. and I was considering the same package in 20 ga. for her... It only comes with 2 barrels though... And the website I seen it on doesn't say which two, is it rifled and smooth? Or 28" & 24"??

I have hunted with several guys with the 500 combo and every single one has at least one problem with them. However, none of the owner complains nor are they looking to sell theirs even with the problems.

I own a 500 3 barrel combo my brother inlaws have the 500 and one has a535 and my son has a 935 combo. Mossberg makes greatshot guns made in north america. Only owned for a short while but so far flawless function the aftermarket parts are easily avaliable. Everyone I've talked to says they have been very reliable firearms. (mind you they are not $2000.00 berettas) The one common issue seems to be the one arm that holds the shells in the magazine. Some people have either reassembeled incorrectly or not seated right. All have indictaed it was rectified quickly by Mossberg customer service.

As for the 20ga they can be purchased as a 3 barrel combo (triggers and bows) had a bunch earlier this year jan or feb.
The 28`will be smooth and the 24`could be rifled or the shorter turkey barrel depends on the combo (turkey or deer)
I like the mossberg 500 over the 870 these days just my opinion!
 
ive picked up a mossburg 12ga 3 barrel combo, great gun, only one thing after about 1000+ rounds is my safety slide came loose, theres a really tiny ball bearing for a detent ball, i took out the one way screw, replaced with reg stainless screw and blue loctite so it doesnt come out, came apart on me at the skeet range and had to get a new detent ball, was a pain in the ass cause i could only fire one shot before it kicked the safety on and id have to hold it up to fire.
 
Great SG (IMO) and the combo offer will get you all the barrels you need. You can even hunt down an 18.5 security barrel if you like (patterns different but it’s a hoot to shoot). I have shot lead, steel, slugs, rifled slugs and it eats them all with no issues. Don't forget about chokes.
 
I picked up the Mossberg 535 three barrel combo from Epps about a year and a half ago and have been pleased thusfar. I've just taken her out a couple times for a few rounds of trap, sighting in the slug barrel and a trip turkey hunting, so it will take longer to provide a fairer assessment. Overall I'm fairly pleased with it and like the camoflauge finish.
 
A buddy just got the 535 2 barrel combo. Only thing I didn't like was how light the buttstock was. Could make shooting sabot slugs a liitle harder on the shoulder. Other than that it works fine.
 
I was warned about the hollow buttstock, and also given a solution that apparently works wonders. If you go get a bunch of dried lentils, and fill the stock with 'em, it should make the gun balance better and a bit heavier to absorb some of the recoil too...

You shoulda bought the mossberg IMO... the 11-87 in 20ga is a decent gun, the 11-87 super mag is a pos IMO... Had one, had to send it back in twice to Remington for repairs, first time they replaced the trigger assembly, 2nd time piece broke off the inside of the reciever and they had to replace the entire gun. Got the brand new gun back, sold it and went and bought a maxus, havnt looked back since!
