Like the title says I am thinking about trying one out this season for something different. I would like to hear from guys that own one what they like and dislike about it.

Great gun but I feel they need a lot of work to reach their true potential. I use one as my regular hunting rifle and have done the work;) I have .50 cal BP, .243 and 7mm Rem Mag barrels for it at this time. I have had lots of others that I didn't use enough to keep. The only one I really miss is the .500 S&W and that was just for the WOW factor.

I don't really spend much time measuring targets but the .243 is a total tackdriver, well under an inch @100yds. I hit a coyote first shot at a lasered 386yds last winter, I'm happy with that! Loads of them at 100-200 also but that was the longest. The 7mm shoots around an inch and the BP I haven't played with much so it is still an unknown.

A friend of mine has one and swears by it. I've shot it once and it is a beautiful gun. Feels really good in the shoulder. I've been looking at one for awhile now and the inter-changeable barrels is a big draw for me.

I have a T/C Encore with .30-06 and .223 barrels. It is very accurate.

What I like (besides the barrel switching factor) is that it is such a compact design. With a 24 inch barrel the Encore is the same overall length as my .30-30 M94 Winchester with a 20 inch barrel.

well it looks like a winner. How fast can you guys reload for a second shot? I wondered how far the extractor pulls the case out of the chamber when its opened?

I have a Pro Hunter in 30-06 and had the barrel cut to 23 inches and recrowned. I like it. Makes a compact hunting gun and fits in the pack nice. It will shoot as well as I can.
There are a few improvements you can make yourself.

I have an Encore Endeavor and I love it. T/C makes a deadly product. Very smooth shooting .50cal BP and I love being able to interchange barrels for centerfire, rimfire, and shotgun loads. I only have the .50cal barrel, but am thinking about getting a 20ga for upland. One of the best on the market.

i have 2, an older encore in stainless and a newer pro hunter in stainless. .223, 22-250, .300 win mag, .375 H&H, 20ga rifled and 50 cal BP barrels. love the guns, accurate enough for hunting with all barrels. with the 20ga and 50 cal BP barrels i can keep all shots in a 8" target at 200 yrds and thats good enough for this hunter. have had several other barrels but this is what i own at the moment. they all have talley one piece base and rings, and i highly recommend them, exept for my 22-250 barrel that i want to change the scope on. i've tried the BellM over sized hinge pin and the T/C lock pins and i've stayed with the T/C lock pins but you should sand the inside of the forearm where it goes over the pins if someone were to go that route. BellM trigger in both frames i own but i honestly don't notice a difference over the stock trigger. the only problem i've ever had was with a 12ga rifled barrel that they drilled the base holes too deep and when T/C was contacted by myself they said it wasn't an uncommon problem with that barrel, but was having issues with exporting into canada when S&W took over. don't know if they've gotten all there export issues resolved or not yet. they replaced it with the 20ga barrel that i have now because it was in stock in canada but didn't have any 12ga rifled barrels in stock in canada at that time. they also gave me a maxima base and a camo forearm for free with the 20ga barrel "for my troubles". i highly recommend.

Those look great! I am looking at getting one with the camo stock. Just listed my CZ 375 on the EE. That has to go first then I think I will give one of those a try.

the older encore (second from the top) came with the plain black stock but i upgraded when the prohunter came out and bought the prohunter thumbhole and prohunter forend in camo when you could still get them cheaper than you can know on ebay.

about 1/4" by eye, haven't really ever measured. i don't have a hard time grabbing an extracted shell because i usually wear light gloves in the winter and use a muff. i can take a pic if you want. just remember that S&W has discontinued a lot of cals that they used to chamber for. so if you're looking for a specific cal you may find old stock or pick up used.
