I have a chance to buy a used .357 Dessert eagle for 700 bucks, 3 mags and a leather holster.
I know the .44 and .50 cal are upwards of 2 grand new....

is this a fair/good price? I already reload for my Gp100 and s/w combat master, so i was thinking the .357 DE would make a nice addition to my stable.

What are your guys feelings on the DE in .357?

I have never shot any DE.............

If you reload .357 already then go for it. $700 is a great price for a Desert Eagle. Just make sure you load those rounds really hot. There is a lot of steel to move back and forth and a weak round won't cut it. And don't limpwrist it.

One thing to check for is the gas system. Some people used lead bullets and it would block the hole where the gas was supposed to travel to rack the slide back. It's possible to clean it out but it's very difficult.

I've got a .50AE and it's an absolute riot to shoot. I bring it out each time I take a new shooter with me and the grins will last for the rest of the day once they've shot it.

Ya thanks for the spelling lesson guys..... :HR:

Its a early 80's generation, and he told me it has a new slide and Gas (check?)
not sure if thats the right terminology.
I shot about 60 rnds through it today and everything seems fine. no jams or mis fires. I liked the mild recoil of it.

unless anyone comes up with some major reason, i think i am going to 'pull the trigger' lol (pun intended....)

I'm sure the desert eagle is a great preforming gun....the Israelis are not know for making crappy weapons. But the constant procession of 80's action movies has kinda soured me. Who else makes a handgun that comes in 24 k gold....

For $700 ,I would buy a Glock G20 sf , for a new gun just ask for $725 at Will### Arms , problem free , shoot 10 mm but no issue for shooting 40 s&w.

personally if it's in good shape I'd buy it, not a practical gun but fun and mean looking. And for -700 with spare mags and a holster it's definitely on the cheaper side (for a Desert Eagle). Up to you my man.
