Whats your favourite bulk .223 for use in semi's and why? Interested in things like reliability, fouling, accuracy (not asking for much out of bulk ammo) and reloadability.

So far I've just used AE black box tactical stuff and it has worked very well. I am considering buying some of the Norinco 223 from canada ammo though.

The norincos non corrosive, I just do a couple pull throughs and my xcr's good to go after, as for accuracy I find for within 200m it's as good as the federal

A friend of mine bought a 5R Remington in 223 and 500 rounds of 55gr .223 Lellier & Bellot and said he can't get it to group. He is worried that it may be the gun.
Has anyone had problems with that ammo, and is it at the bottom of the scale?

S&B is closer to 5.56 spec than .223 spec (S&B uses CIP pressure standards), tell him to try heavier bullets - it could be a combination of 5R rifling and the wrong twist rate. Either way; match gun, match glass, match bullet, match round - it's a system not just a magic barrel.

PMC 55 grain 5.56 does a better job than the AE / Federal 55 grain .223 in my opinion...but thats just my opinion.

His rifle is designed for match ammo, not commercial hunting ammo. Check out the precision rifles forum, those rifles are one of the most accurate factory rifles out there. You can find load recomendations, his best bet is reloading to squeeze every bit of accuracy out of it. Factory ammo rarely shoots as good as a well tuned handload. Its not the rifle.
