steyr m9 m40 reliability issues?

My Steyr in .40 is an awesome shooter. Granted, I've only put about 440 rounds down the pipe, but I've had exactly ZERO problems with the gun. On top of that, it's probably the most ergonomically-friendly handgun I've ever owned.

My only issue is with the trapezoidal sights- I just can't get used to them. Other guys I know who have Steyrs love them, but I have to really concentrate to get good groups.

I tried to sell my Steyr on the EE a few months ago, but nobody bit ,even though I had it listed for an extremely fair price. It's been sitting in the safe ever since, so I think I'm gonna swap out the sights for a 3-dot setup over the winter and see if it works better for me that way.

Steyr M9 was my first pistol. Had a few FTEs new but I think it needs a good break in. I installed plunger spring and no FTEs since. Sights are cool but definitely not at ll good for target. Trigger is horrible but I still enjoy shooting it once in a while. I have a few other really good 9mm pistols, but I still love the look and ergos of the Steyr. Compact, fits my hands really well. Odd grip angle forces you to take a more aggressive stance. Simple to strip and clean. Very Glock like, but only better looks and feel. Very underrated gun IMO. I think I may pick the Steyr as my end of the world gun over my CZ Shadow or STI Ranger 2.

Bought Trijicon night sights but have yet to install.

Can you do something about the 15lb trigger pull? I held one at Wolverine and liked the grip until I felt the trigger weight.

...

Are we talking about the same gun?! Where do "horrible" and "15 lb" trigger come from?

The trigger constant pull is only 5.5 lbs. One of the sweetest triggers out there. I had in my hands and compared it with Walther PPQ (another trigger champion) and didn't feel much difference. Both have very nice, low weight triggers.

Check as well the very own Steyr specs:
