I've tried searching, but cannot seem to find extra mags for my Colt by Walther 1911 in .22. The thing only comes with one which is obviously a major PITA.
Any guidance on where to look is greatly appreciated...

See if you can get someone with a GSG 1911 .22lr to loan you a mag from one of them to test for function.

I have tested the GSG mags with a real deal Colt 1911 .22 conversion unit & found that they worked fine. If the GSG mags will work with your pistol then you will be happy to know they can be purchases for ~ $30 each new.

Too bad they don't post prices :(

It would be nice to compare them before driving out there.

You can call them on the telephone. If they have the magazines in stock, most retailers will happily take your CC number, ring up the sale and put them aside for you to pick up later.

Thanks for the lead ForaFew, I grabbed a couple for $40 each. They have one left, if anyone else is looking for them. Now to take my newest acquisition to the range...

Reply from Colt Canada

I've had an e-mail exchange with Colt Canada about mags for these pistols. They were trying to help, which I appreciated, but couldn't say if anymore were coming.

They have now referred me to Colt’s Manufacturing in West Hartford, Connecticut. No luck so far.

To date, when I get a lead, as soon as I call they are already out.

My next purchase may be based on "Do you have mags in stock?"

WARNING: slight topic deviation. The Colt/Walther/Umarex 1911 22 lr was cycling everything I put in it last time, thus I decided to push the limits. I put 10 Eley sub-sonics in the mag, and they all cycled, no FTF, FTE. (I only had 10 left, so I didn't get to test it again). Just figured people with these guns might like the story without starting a whole new thread.

Then I loaded one CB long....um...no...it didn't cycle. Just thought I'd try.

No word from Colt USA on mags. Maybe I'll try Umarex next.
