Can someone explain this to me?

I have been reloading revolver cartridges for a while now and have settled on some loads that work well for me but every once in a while I like to experiment with hotter loads (still within published safe limits). My pet loads shoot to point of aim at 15 to 20 yds. When I load the same brass and bullet to higher pressures, the shots land lower on the target. This happens consistently for 32 h&r magnum, 38/357 and 45 colt. It seems like they should impact higher but this is not the case.

I know it has something to do with the short distance involved. Are the hotter loads "flatter" shooting? Something about the bullet going up before it goes down?

I asked another member at the range about this and he told me it is one of life's little mysterys.

I'm sure some seasoned reloaders here will have a better explanation.
 
The hotter load will spend less time in the barrel there for the bullet is out faster before gun gets a chance to recoil up when the bullet is in there. Of course this is only a small amount but maybe its showing up.
 
Ishodu is correct in his assesment above.

I have found that when shooting my 480 Ruger in a 7.5" Super Redhawk, over a rest, using a 2x scope at 50 yards that the very slow 400gr bullets (1100ft/s) hit 3" higher than the 325gr (about 1300ft/s), and the fast 275gr (1550ft/s) another 3" lower than the 325gr bullets. The 480 Ruger shows much more muzzle climb than any of my 44 Mag revolvers, so the different point of impact at 50 yards was much more noticible.
