I have conflicting interests and need opinions

Both; you will find a way to come up with the necessary resources. Trust me, I drive a '97 Cavalier...now you know why.

:D

You drive one too? Concider this, next year it will be old enough to apply for it's own drivers liscence. That's what scare me!

As for the OP, the Tokarevs will be around for a while yet, so if money's tight to the point where buying one will mess with other plans, wait a few weeks for another paycheck.

If you really must have one from a supplier then I guess you should buy one now. But if you're willing to haunt the EE they do come up reasonably regularly.

Something to keep in mind is that a Tok is at best a plinker with very limited opportunity to use in any sort of match. This is due to the lack of any sort of safety on the proper ones. So depending on the rules to holster the gun you either have to not put one in the chamber and then rack on the draw or chamber one and safely lower the hammer to holster then #### on the draw.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I bit the bullet and went for a '45 from Wolverine! Since this is my first restricted, I'll be happy to do some plinking for now, and if I enjoy it to the point where I want to try a match, I'll invest in something more appropriate.

The build is gonna have to wait a few weeks. I'll be collecting parts/pieces for a little while yet, so there isn't much urgency to finish it (other than the fact that I want to shoot it).

Thanks again!! hopefully there are still a few million TT33's floating around in some combloc arms caches :D

Yeah! I'm pretty excited :D I haven't received it yet...I imagine it will be a while due to the BC CFO. The Wolverine Tok's have the wood grips too, so they're a little different than most...I'm not sure if that makes it better, worse or neutral, but I've definitely seen a lot of Tok's with the plastic grips...

Thanks :D I'm pretty excited! Nice pic HMCSWebley...any idea where to find extra mags for these bad boys? Marstar is all sold out according to their website.

Somebody mentioned SKSMAN a while back http://www.sksman.com/acces/tokarev.php
Looks like new production. Never dealt with them before though.
Mine both came with a spare mag.
I missed out on the last wave of tt pistols and when they showed up again I ordered instantly.
The one on the right has grips made from some kind of pressed composite. Not plastic or wood, and not Bakelite either...more like micarta.
I'm happy with both and am planning to get one with plastic soon if I can.

The one on the right looks like the rare one with wood grips...did you mean the one on the left has the pressed composite? I like the look of the left one - have never seen that kind before!

Left is checkered wood...I like it too.
Seems to be a lot of wood gripped tt's out there right now, get one before they're gone !!

Transfer and LTATT finally went through! Now I just have to wait for shipping!! I bought it from Wolverine...I couldn't pass up their price! Wood grips, 1945 issued, I cannot wait :D
