here are a few pics of the gun. it is a rem 700 ??? , chambered in 30-06 , 22" barrel, iron sights, and an internal box mag. i picked it up at a gunshow today for a steal of a deal. i am just wondering what model this is as i am looking to purchase a new stock for it with a detachable magazine, or a detachable mag conversion. please any help would be appreciated. if you need better info about the gun please pm me and ill forward you more detail thank you.

ok sounds good. now i am new to rem 700's so please dont laugh at me. but now to change it to a detachable mag i just need a stock and bottom metal correct. i would like to have the detachable mage for out hunting this year. that is why i am asking. thank you again.

I do not recommend the Kwik-Klip conversion.
It totally emasculates that nice long box on the factory 700's. [OAL 3.68"]
This means you have a long jump to the lands if you adhere to
the magazine length of the Kwik-Klip. [OAL of about 3.3"]
The factory DM does not have this problem, however.

This is very correct..... I found out the exact same thing with a couple Kwik-Klip rifles. Accuracy and overall function improved when I replaced the conversions with the original floor plate set-up.

anyone know an appropriate price for this gun? i am just wondering know how much it actually is worth. i would like to get a detachable mag model, and i got a wicked deal on it that why i am asking.thank you.

Why not just shoot it as it is, the blind mag works just fine and you won't misplace it!
Maybe not quite as convenient but the results at the end of the hunt should be the same.
Enjoy, they normally are good shooting rifles and that old trigger has adjustable set screws.
