Currently in the midst of a build & wondering if there is an authorized Cdn dealer/distributer?

Kind of at a point where I have to make a cal. decision, so any info or point of direction to 300 Blk Barrels smaller then 16" would be appreciated.

I was looking to try and get ahold of an AAC Muzzle brake and all the guys for 1-off import told me it would cost 2x or more price wise to get ahold of.

Alberta Tactical Rifle actually told me they had no affiliation with AAC, so they couldn't get anything from them.

I haven't found ANYBODY in Canada that stocks AAC stuff, so until some dealer tries to do it, I kinda doubt anything will get brought in except "carried over" stuff and one-off imports.

I'd like to grab a Blackout 18T flashider myself

Even Brownelles' doesn't carry the AAC line oddly:bangHead:

I'm suprised no-one is taking this platform up on a more serious stocking level thus far.

Why?

My .223 AR puts holes in paper just fine.

Will the .300 punch the holes better?

Besides costing me more money, why would I want a .300 AR?

And really, marketing will only take this round so far. Starting to look like no one really cares. Except the people trying to sell you New Barrels and Accessories all over again.

And for the Barrels, I agree, Get ATRS to make one for you. Any length you want and Match Quality.
No import hassles or waiting.

I WAS looking for this guy: (.338 brake threaded 18x1mm - for my Tikka T3 Tac)

But I'm not willing to pay 6 or 700 dollars to get it... 300 for the states price, so even 400-450 I'd consider fair.

BUT, I ended up putting an order in for a Roedale Precision muzzle brake instead... Heavier and bigger, but a nice brake.

Its a great Suppressed round :Dcou:

Does it matter the 300 AAC was ultimately designed as a sub-sonic and/or supressed platform?

Even Stateside, not everyone is running it in that variation. whether their state allows it or not. Alot of people are happy to run it with out a can.

Personally after alot of reading on various boards about the 300 AAC & it's capabilities to shoot 90-247gr both factory & cast, it has alot going for it overall (personal opinion mind).

I'm still on the fence as to 300 AAC or 556mm, so who knows which way I'll end up going. Maybe I'll just build two uppers, one of each and be done with it ;)

Don't let them talk you out of 300blk...it's a fun round...mine's a Mega/Vltor mating w/ 8" barrel and atrs eliminator...but if this is your first AR (guessing)...go with 5.56...easier/cheaper to run.

Its the heat for a MP-5SD replacement with a short bbl and subsonics (and can).

Admittedly the only reason I am getting one is for the wife as a bedside gun (11.5" with a short can) and she and my 14yr old liked shooting a buddies so much that it makes sense. If I could not suppress it, then I would pass on it, but whatever floats your boat.

Its supersonic application really ends at 200m, so if its a .300BK or 5.56mm question, I would go for the 5.56mm as ammo is a lot cheaper.

Sorry, I should have clarified - They can make you a .300 BLK barrel shorter than 16". I've been trying to get some AAC stuff here too, and it seems to almost be unobtanium.

A Remington 7600 in .223 would punch holes in paper just as well as an AR, so why do you own an AR? Round for round, the 300BLK is not that much more expensive to load. Sure bullets are twice as much, but you only use a third of the powder per round. Factory ammo is twice the cost, but not much different that an AR10, but who would ever want to own one of those when a .223 punches holes in paper just fine.
