Just got myself a nice Diana 34. Do I really need a true airgun scope or can I safely put a rimfire scope on it? The recoil doesn't seem that bad even if it's a springer?

Yes, you have to get a scope made for that double-recoil.

Scopes that work for that double recoil are older bushnell scope chiefs, they can be found door cheap and are robust. You can't use just any rifle scope it will get destroyed.

Hmmm, not sure about that. I have a couple of old scopechiefs, but would only risk them on CO2 or pneumatic guns. (=zero recoil)

My suggestion is go back to D&L's site and do your scope/ring shopping there. Also, tell them what gun you have...there are some mounts that work better with Diana guns than others.

Two scopes that came up a few times while researching a scope for my magnum springer: Bushnell Elite 3200 and Vortex Diamondback series. Don't forget to get some good rings and mount.

Have you tried them? I Have plenty with no issues at all. Tear one apart and check how the lenses are installed. Have one on my Diana/rws 66, no giss
