I removed the stock on my 10-22 to resolve a small problem with the finish -- attempted to reassemble but found that it wants to be difficult -- it doesn't want to seat. There was nothing done to the action/barrel area that would cause any changes to the fit. Is there a trick in placement?

I've such loose pins in my carbine, that I but 1/2" squares of black vinyl eletrical tape on both sides of the action to keep the pins in place.

If you lock the bolt back the pressure on the pin keeps it from falling out for basic disassembly. I have started doing this as a habit now.

Obviously when your removing the trigger group from the action thats not gonna work, but then your aware of the issue at least.

I put oversized pins in my kidd triggers. Back when he shipped to Canada, they sure are better than the old ones falling on the floor----rolling under the bench---etc.
