Benelli super Vinci Problem

Just got my benelli SV and absolutely love the look and feel of it , light and shoulders awesome BUT it will not cycle 2 3/4 target loads . It cycles 3" and 3 1/2 " shells flawlessly , anybody else have this problem ? Or have any solutions ?? Thanks

i have the vinci and it says to break it in with 3-4 boxes of regular hunting cartridges....i used a bunch of slugs....buckshots...and turkey loads...cycles everything very good....even target loads

I've been thinking about a Vinci for a month or so now...
If/when I decide to just buy the damn thing, it's gonna be hard to decide on the 3" or 3.5" super.

Anyone with a Super Vinci shoot target load, #8 or #9 with any issues?

crazyhunter, let us know if breaking it in with heavier loads works for you.
 
Brother has a vinci, I have a super vinci. Both cycle everything just fine. But we mainly only shoot duck and goose loads. I'm sure it helped with the break in.

Last year at a sporting clay event we went to my brothers vinci had problems cycling a certain type of trap load. He switched brands and it wasnt a problem. I'd suggest trying that. Same oz load and everything just some brands may work differently.
 
Also need to ensure you shoot minimum 3 dram and break it in with some duck loads. It will cycle 1 1/8 but minimum 3 dram. Right in the manual for all semi`s that are interia driven.
 
When I had my Vinci I only ever shot 2 3/4. Never ran any heavier loads and never had any issues.
I would suggest a different brand first and see how you fare and make sure you keep it well oiled
 
I picked up a Vinci this past Friday. I'm so glad I did!

Funny thing is, my 870 hates Winchester low brass, and is fine with Federal low brass.
Exact opposite with the Vinci.

I absolutely love this Italian alien gun, so I guess Winchester will be getting a lot more of my money than Federal now...
 
I looked at them for a bit, but after talking to people who own them, I started looking at other guns, They recommend using a 3 Dram 1 and 1/8oz load for clay shooting. Might kick a little more, but it should cycle, also try different brands of ammo, it might help a bit.
Keep us posted, I hope I can start considering one of these again.
 
I currently own three Benelli 12ga semi-autos and all three have worked flawlessly from the first box of target shells. I have never broken any Benelli in with with magnum loads. I can tell you that given my experience, if I had a brand new Benelli that didn't cycle target loads right off the bat I would be returning it. All three cycle 1 oz loads just great,

My only caveat is that I never use aluminum rimmed shells, only brass.

SBE II and Vinci. No break in, worked fine with cheap walmart stuff from brand new.

I've heard the M4's need break in, but they're gas guns and not inertia.

I wanted to report back about my Vinci for anyone thinking about getting one, with concerns about target loads.

I've shot a couple boxes each of #7.5 and #6 heavy game loads through it, as well as a few rounds of 3"mag slugs and 3" 00 buck shot.
The gun seems fully broken in now, as I shot 5 Federal target #8 shells today, and they all extracted just like they should.

I guess some semi's do in fact need a bit of a break-in before they cycle everything.
 
I havent yet on any 2 3/4 or 3" duck loads. But I gotta watch it with heavy 3.5" goose loads. I use my super vinci mainly as a duck gun, nice and light, recoil isnt as enjoyable as my sx2 thats all done up so I still use the sx2 for any planned goose hunts.

If you really grip the pistol grip it seems to pinch the middle finger, but if you pull your hand back a bit and just squeeze the trigger with the finger forward a bit its no problem.
