Who has Non-restricted Green Classic or Black Special in stock with 1:7 twist?

Wow... $3800 now for these!!!

Seems like just yesterday they were $2800

It sure ain't cheap, but an aftermarket NR barrel w/ gunsmithing costs will run you pretty much the same.

The major differences are that with doing it on your own you have the choice of going with a match grade barrel w/ integrated flash suppressor or brake of your liking, all this with an 18.5" barrel vs an 19 1/2" bbl barrel.

The carbine also starts off with a shorter piston system, so handguard is closer to you as well.

Kudos to Angryeyebrows for giving me a TON of information on the conversion; a real asset to the board he is.

Cheers

Why would anyone have to do the conversion on a Swiss arms if they just wanted a non-res 1-7 twist? What angry eyebrows did was cool but I don't think it has anything to do with what the op asked? Or am I missing something?

I was referring to the link provided, from Epps' store. The NR they have are the Black Special Target, different than the "regular" Black Special, and priced differently ($3,800 Vs $3,400) than the CG or BS w/20.78" barrel.

The point I wanted to make is that for the exact same price as the Black Special Target, you can have a shorter, lighter SAN with a number of features you don't get with the stock rifle.

Cheers

Both of the black special's they have listed are 3800 one is target (flat top) one is regular (diopter sights). I still don't understand what you are talking about. The retail price at epps for all San rifles is obviously around 3800.... So your saying it's the same cost to buy a carbine and make in nr rather then just buying an nr Swiss arms when they both carbines and rifles are the same price at retail!?

I obviously misread Epp's website as I was sure that both their NR were the Target models :) Thanks for correcting that.

As you can get a CG or BS at Wolverine's for $400 less, one would be stupid to pay Epp's price for it.

That said. If someone is willing to pay $3,800 for any them (CG, BS and Target), I am saying that it could run you close to the same $$ to convert a carbine to an NR status. Say $2,700 for a used Swiss carbine + $1,000 to convert you're right up there at the same price as an NR $3,800 price tag at Epps.

Should have mentioned I was referring too a USED carbine right off the bat; my bad on that one.
