357 mag rifle loads for deer hunting

for the 158 grain projectile i use small pistol magnum primer, and 14.9 grains of alliant 2400 in my winchester 94 ae, i get great accuracy but i've never hunted with it

357 magnum are loaded to the same maximum, whether to be shot in a revolver or a rifle.
Just look in your book to get the best velocity for the bullet weight you want to use.
 
A large mule doe a buddy shot with a .357 revolver carbine and 158gr Ruko factory ammo hit the ground dead so fast it bounced.Center chest shot maybe 50 yards.........Harold

It's the 180 gr that I'm having the problem finding a load for.

I have 2400 powder and I think some H11O

Any one out there using the 180 gr as have a pile of them to use up.
 
I am getting 1800-1850 fps from a 18" Marlin Lever with the gas-checked 158gr bullet on top of 15gr of A2400
I also tried 200gr gas checked bullet with 10.5gr A2400. Got about 1300-1400fps and a bit of sticky extraction. Don't know why so much spread but I found the load unsuitable for hunting so I didn't pursue it any further. In order to make it work I had to purchase a second carrier for the Marlin and modify it to accept the longer round. That's another $100 right there.

A good cast wide flat nosed bullet works for me.....

H-110 & A-2400 should work too.
