Hey guys, along with my Colt ANVIII came a new love for the 45ACP and the 1911 platform.
My gun addiction is the kind that makes me build my guns from parts apparently (I enjoy them more that way): My AR, my 870, soon my 700. And I see a 10/22 and a 1911 in my future...

So where should I look for a "stripped" railed 1911 frame?

I'd rather not build from a gun that exploded...
I realize an add in the EE is a good start, but at this time I'm looking for option/price intel.

To the best of my knowledge, as the receiver is the "restricted" part of a gun, buying direct from Caspian would require FFL transaction/fees, etc.

Another option, and one I've been considering is Dlask.
I have a brand new 1911 Caspian upper, so I am thinking of having Joe suppling the frame, then fitting and finishing.

Joe sells a frame and slide for people wanting to do their own work. As well as a 60% frame.

I recall someone mentioning he uses Caspian forgings, but I can't confirm.

Good luck with the build.

Thanks guys

Hmm the Caspian Recon is pretty much exactly what I'm after.
Maybe Dlask could help me here, should've asked them yesterday when I had them on the phone for my 870 barrel.
60% is a bit to raw for me, I'd love to be able to start there mind you ;)
