What's the word on those? They look beautifully made. But over a grand (1150+) is steep.
Apparently Miroku, the company who makes them, has a great reputation.

I know purists balk at the rebound hammer and the tang safety. I personally don't mind either.

Anybody who has one, can you comment on it?

If I wanted one, I'd shell out the cash. Miroku does indeed have a great reputation. Check out all the reissues they built for Browning, e.g. the Model 71, Model 1886, Model 53.....I've yet to hear an owner complain about quality, fit or finish. Having seen and handled acouple 1886 Grade 1 rifles, I only wish I had paid the money and bought one when they were available.

I absolutely love mine. I have the Browning 1886 SRC, 1895 rifle in .30-06, Model 71 Carbine and also the new Winchester 1886 Short Rifle in 45-70. The new one shoots the best. I just love it.

I bought a SRC in 44 RM the fit, finish and accuracy are all superb. It is one of the few firearms out there that is truly worth the money.
I have a bunch of originals and it is true to the design and to the detail of the original SRC in every way except the "lawyer forced" rebound and tang safety.

Do you have to field strip the gun to clean it? Is it difficult to do?
I've seen Otis gun kits that clean the gun from the open action so it makes me curious how clean that would get it.

The earlier Brownings didn't have tang safeties if my memory serves me correctly......Harold

Harold you are 100% correct, they were 92's but not following the detail. They were short rifles which was never made production in the 92. They are beautiful guns but not true to the SRC or the rifle.

I have a M92 takedown rifle in 44-40. It is a hoot to shoot. Always goes bang. I am going to take mine deer hunting this fall. The quality is excellent. Mine has the new safety system, but I can live with it.

I bet these are better than any American made lever guns produced in decades, perhaps ever.

Having seen the high quality CNC metal work and fabrication the Japanese do I suspect your right. The price is too high for me but if I had the coin I would have no trouble talking myself into buying one.

I have owned several Miroku manufs for Winchester and Browning. My SRC and the Highwall were both Miroku made and were tack drivers especially the Highwall. Levervolution 45/70 was a 1in group at 100m out of the box with a tang sight.
Just bought the new Browning Xbolt 308 and again its a Miroku. Fit and finish are more like a European gun than a US made rifle. If the Americans are not careful the Japs will take over that industry too. I would consider a 94 if it was Miroku but an older US made one is way less expensive and there are a lot more of them. The Mirokuss would likely be more accurate and at least as reliable.

well well well, where can I git one? :)

Hey two-dogs howz it goin? As I understand it when Winnie stopped makin the 94 a while back and then a few years later it showed up a lot more expensive. Those should be the Mirokus if my intel is correct. I would just go into a gunshop and ask to see a new Winnie 94. I betcha them newfangled 94s say
"made in Japan" now. Might even say Miroku on it but either way. My new Browning Xbolt is Jap manuf and very nicely fitted out. I will check my local dealer but that is what I expect to see.
