Hello, I have an XCR-L in 223 and I was thinking about putting a UBR stock on it, but I have heard they are very heavy, now the XCR is front heavy so im wondering if it will balance it out nicely or be too heavy for it, your thoughts?

hey blaxsun its actually funny that your the first guy to reply i was about to pm you, my friend that recommended the UBR said you would be the guy to ask!

I few people have commented about how the UBR really balanced out their XCR. I had one on my HK and since put one on my LWRC for the same reason. And it's virtually indestructible.

The only way to mount it is using a NEA adapter, because the indexing nub on the bottom of the UBR. all together it is very solid piece of gear and does a really good job of compensating for the heavy front end.

one shots selling them for 329, but wolverine is selling them for 289 and has a military discount so if they have black on stock ill probably go through them, i put a EE ad up because you never know what deal may arise on there

I have a UBR on my 10.5" NEA, because I found even with that short a barrel it was still front heavy. Yes, it adds weight, but I feel like it pulls the rifle into my body rather than down and away from it. Nice balance. Can only imagine it would help a longer barrelled rifle even more.

correct me if im wrong but the dlask xcr stock adapter will comply with the magpul UBR stock? I just noticed that the UBR stock is and M16 stock and the dlask stock adapter is for an M4 stock

I have that set up and it works well. The UBR tends to balance out the front end. The AR stock adapter I use is similar to the one sold at dlask arms. I recommend the setup.

Right on!! any pics with the UBR on the Xcr-L? now to dump 285 on the UBR

I have one with some of my other guns. Here:

does the UBR stock add any length when fully collapsed over the FAST stock? I'm thinking of getting one of them, but I don't think it'd fit in my hardcase if it increases the overall length of the rifle

The UBR collapsed is 11.1" with the standard stock pad. The extended stock pad adds about another 0.25" in length (but it's also more comfortable, too). The fast stock is apparently 10".
