Just new to SKS'. I picked up a 1951 SKS ser# PD 60 the other day. It has obviously been refurbished and the metal is in amazing condition. Still have to clean her up a bit.

What kind of finish is on the metal? Is it a parkerizing type finish or paint. It seems very resilient to scratches. Other SKS' I have seen (1953) have deep bluing.

I read the sticky with info on SKS serial numbers and am still not sure what the numbers mean PD 60. It is a Tula refurb with a 1951 dust cover - correct? Can anyone else see anything from markings?

Thanks,

Musky

Yes its a 1951 refurb, black painted. On the cover you can see the refurb mark(small box with a line in).
