Electronic Predator Call Question

What electronic predator call remote has the most range?

I know you can call them in close and all of that stuff but I still would like to know what kind of range owners are getting with the various brands.

Foxpro good for over 200 yards but needs to be up out of the cover ( line of sight ) and good batteries in the cold.

I can reach at around +/-300 yards when my Foxpro is on it's tripod and with fully charged batteries in the remote. I've noticed the snow seems to help reflecting the signal as I get more range when there's snow on the ground.

Just me or do I think I can do better with my mouth call ? Looking at building an electronic call, but this sounds pretty disappointing.

The OP is talking about the range of the remote control. Since you don't need to be putting the caller very far away from you (the shooter), it doesn't matter much.

I get several hundred yards with my wildlife Tech call. Never really put out so far as to know where the limits are.

I've heard the Wildlife Technologies calls remotes get far better range than others but I have no first hand experience.

If you do a search there are a lot of reviews. I just ordered a Foxpro Spitfire II as they have dropped in price. This is all new to me but you gotta start somewhere. lol

I have the foxpro spitfire and the remote range is 100 yards at best. Sitting on the ground cuts it to 1/2 that.


Happy with the sound quality but I would like a little more volume.

I meant to say if the call is on the ground the range is much less. I hang it 2-4' off the ground and 100 yds is about the most i get and the batteries have to be fresh.

Kinda wish I had waited a bit, spitfire seems to be discontinued and the Wildfire 2 has taken it's place, same price but more options.

You really don't need an electronic predator call with a remote range exceeding 50 yards or so. Think about it. You put that call out in front of you at 50 yards, a coyote comes in and stops for a look 50 yards (or further) from the caller. That's now 100 yards from you. The further you put the call, the further away the target.

They almost always circle down wind. I like to get the call as far away as possible to avoid giving away my sent. My target being 200 yds or more away is to my advantage. High powered scoped rifles don't care.

They do almost always circle downwind, but that has nothing to do with where your caller is located. That has to do with where YOU are. Unless you're hunting in flat, open prairie, you're probably doing yourself a disservice by putting the caller further than 50 yards away. Chances are you're getting busted by coyotes you never see because they are too far away.
