APEX Triggers

This what I ordered from Bownells:

"APEX M&P Competition Action Enhancement Kit -Comp AEK", it comes with the USB and AEK springs.

I didn't find it a significant improvment over the stock Pro trigger.

What a shame it is that you guys have to spend hundreds to make a 600 dollar pistol reliable.

I didn't spend hundreds to "make a 600 dollar pistol reliable". I spent about $100 to improve an already great pistol. It's the same as anyone sending in a firearm (any firearm) for a trigger job. This just happens to be a DIY kit that works fantastic.

The Apex trigger does not in any way affect the reliability of the M&P pistol. Not negatively, not positively. If you had any experience with the pistol you would know that. Back in your lane.

as above stay in your lane

a poor trigger job can cause a gun to be unreliable. I'm hearing nothing but good things about Apex however. Everyone from Joe's to Pro's.

I bought the APEX duty kit, rated at 5.5 ilbs when fully installed in the m and p...

only put in the hard sear, breaks at a bout 6ilbs, but nice and clean as butter, polished and now its a better trigger then 99% of the stuff out there, without being to light to be practical...

best 80$ i spent at brownells

the gun was just as reliable fore the 3000 rounds thru it before I lightened the trigger... you are really coming out of left feild... im sure you enjoy your glock or whatever and thats ok... but the m and p is a gun of excellent quality and value.

in fact aside from catching the brass shavings from cheap norinco 45acp in the chamber once or twice, the gun has never failed... ever... and im past 5000 now, and this includes things like being fired in rain, snow, dirt ect ect..

dont confuse good value with cheap

The duty carry AEK for 129.99 is a great deal if you don't want to get it shipped from the US. Also since the forward set trigger+sear is over $100, Brownells won't ship it to you and I doubt they'd create part numbers for you to split the order. $60 extra isn't that much to avoid the hassel of getting an import/export permit set and shipping.

USPS priority flat rate would be 5 bucks each, and you can buy the aek trigger and aek carry kit separately. But you are right, doing the math you're only saving 20 bucks. Unless you have the LE/MIL discount you're saving like 60

You can buy the AEK trigger - that kit is the forward set trigger/sear, there are 2 types of triggers offered by Apex - one moves the sear break forward, the other just replaces the stock trigger. To my knowledge you can buy the replacement trigger on its own, but the forward release sear set is one kit.

I have the Comp kit in my 9mm. Just ordered the Carry Spring kit to bring up the trigger pull to 5 lbs. I'm finding the 2.4 lbs I'm getting to be a little too light for me. I'll put in the carry springs which with shipping cost me $25.00 and will compare the two and see what I really like best.

The M&Ps are very reliable. The $100 allows the user to improve their accuracy and makes it very competitive. Compared to the money need to make something like a 1911 reliable and competitive a M&P with a Apex kit is a bargain.
