Nice find, I see they've addressed a number of the issues that hold the AK system back. Safety first and fore most. The rails and irons look slick. I didn't see anything about a bolt catch.
Probably very limited.
Anyway, it's not written in stone that the AK-12 will become the new standard issue rifle, at least in all branches of the Russian forces. There are two other infantry rifle designs appearantly being considered, an updated version of the AEK-971 {the AN-94 competitor} and the ADS.

It's in service with their special forces, but it's waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive to make to have it as their service rifle.
pretty much the same here in the west where the AR-15/M-16 type evolving into so many different variants, calibers and designs, but the bottom line is the upper/lower receiver is still pretty much the same
that thing looks like sh*t. they put no frikken thought into the design at all, but, as long as it's reliable, who cares - it does it's job.
