Yeah. Mossberg ATR and I'm pretty sure there more expensive than an axis.

I don't understand the hatred for budget rifles. I use to own a savage edge right before the name changed to axis and it shot just as well as my rem 700 and my browning x-bolt. Yeah it was not the nicest looking gun in my safe and the bolt was not very smooth, but the gun performed just fine.

I like to have expensive nice guns when I can but it's not always in the budget. A savage axis gets you a rifle capable of hunting or range time for alot less money. I think the best part of them is you cam buy an axis for 300 and try out a certian caliber and if you like the caliber you can then upgrade your rifle when money allows. If you don't like the caliber you bought sell the your 300 gun and you hav not hardly lost any money.

Oxymoron? If the bolt isnt very good how can it be performing just fine?
 
basically what "their" saying is, as long as its moa capible it can be in bolted to a 2x4, have a trigger that needs to be squeezed off with channel locks, and a pair of tasco binos strapped in with green rawhide your golden

good point. its they are so short form is they're . their represtents posestion.

correct answer is they're. i passed english with a 50 so one can see it wasn't a strong point . . SO SHUT UP!!!

Hey HTH

If you ever change scopes you should stop by Cabela's and buy that Weaver 1 pc. Multi-slot base for Savage Axis for 13.99 and let me know how it fits. :)
 
Does anyone have the link for that trigger mod? I replaced the trigger spring with one from a ball point pen. Seemed to help quite a bit but I was still thinking about the timney trigger.

These guys are hilarious...god forbid that an inexpensive rifle shoots bang on with one that costs 3-4x more...she ain't pretty, but she sure is ugly...but she can shoot...very well! If this is what you can afford, then let'er rip and have fun, fill the freezer or whatever floats your boat...
