Thanks for keeping me in mind about wanting a e series. Though it has a rail (I couldn't wait for a non rail) the gun is flawless and superbly accurate. The nights sights are great.

This is my second purchase from Wanstalls and it won't be my last!

Nice purchase!! I was so going to jump on that but I too would prefer one without the rail! I have heard nothing but good things about them. Congrats.

OMG I love it! Too bad I have a Nighthawk GRP..... I like the serrations on it.. how is the fit and finish? Trigger weight? Things you like and don't like about it? Thanks for the pictures! I didn't even know S&W made 1911's.... or of this type anyhow. The rail underneath is something I thought would be removed from S&W's design... going with the times is good.

I have a few 1911's, Colt x 2 (Commander and Delta), Dan Wesson SSC, STI Trogan,Taurus (up for sale on EE), Para 14-45 Limited and Coonan 357. All are stainless steel. Want to see a group picture?

I would place this gun on par with the Dan Wesson. Fit/finish is totally clean and every line is crisp. The night sights are f**king beautiful and the first fix sights I have owned that actually hit point of aim.

Groupings are stunning and the gun is more accurate then I am. Trigger is probably the best out of the box I have ever fired.

The only cons..kicks like a mule, using 230 gr FMJ Wolf! Seriously.I think the return spring might be a little stiff as you really need to give some effort to function the slide release. Also if your thumb rides the safety abit (even a 1/16") its activated.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

A note about Dan, any supplier that actually remembers that you want a special gun, 6 months after asking......that's priceless. I have had girlfriends that wouldn't remember what I told them 6 minutes later. I ll be buying more from him in the future.

msarazin thanks for the reply! I find it really strange that the recoil is greater on this gun... nonetheless it's a beautiful 1911. I'm drooling because this is the first stainless 1911 I've ever seen with a bottom rail.

I would love to see some snapshots of groups! My kids (well, young adults, whatever) tease me all the time about me taking pictures of particularly good groups from rifles and pistols and think I am very nerdy. well this nerd would love to see another persons photo's of groups he is proud of. that is a really gorgeous 1911.

cheers! jsd

I had to borrow the grips off the Delta Elite for the E series, hence the exchange. The Delta and Coonan are the only 2 that were bought used.

Top row Taurus & Commander
Middle row Delta Elite 10 mm, Para Limited (for all the Para haters!) and S&W E Series
Bottom row STI Trogan 9 mm, Dan Wesson SSC 40S&W, Coonan 357 mag.
Missing Colt Mustang stainless 380 acp, I don't really count it as a 1911.

Once the Taurus is sold, probably looking at a Kimber
