So my feet have pretty much healed and its time to get back out hunting again. Tonight I finish packing, tomorrow I pick up a sheep and caribou tag and head north as fast as I can. Next stop: Muskwa-Kechika!
Primary goal: spend a maximum number of days in the backcountry.
Secondary goal: have a great time hunting with great people.
Tertiary goal: bring home a sheep and/or caribou.
First week will be spent in a wall tent with a fine CGNer and his wife glassing for sheep and opportunistically hunting caribou. Week two my wife flies in and we head into the backcountry to get serious about the sheep!
Added bonus: I splurged this week on new Kenetrek boots for the missus and I. Dumber than a bag of hammers to break in boots in the field but tough luck for me- its done.
Being able to saddle my missus with an extra 40lbs of meat and not worry about a twisted ankle will make it all worthwhile.
