can't speak for the hk's but having shot a glock 21, m&p 45, ruger p345, and a sig p220 I would say that my favorite was the sig by far

Sig 220 SAO. Absolutely faultless...

I would love to hold the P220. There isn't a dealer close that has one. It's quite a large sum of coin to drop without having even seen it.

Really? Its a 1911 with SIG's name on it?

Yes, the 220 is a fair bit slimmer than a G21, but it also holds fewer rounds.

Ummmmm. Kind of a shallow statement. It's a 1911 with SIG's name on it? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Like a "Norinco" is an M14 only with Norinco's name on it?! Please....

And I've never shot one but I'd vote for a....?

How does that work?

Maybe I'm unclear on the concept but how can you thumbs up (or down) a firearm you've never fired?

And if your comparing it to a 1911, it kind of has to be a SAO...doesn't it?

Lets look at the facts here. It has SIG's name on it. It is a single action pistol with a manual thumb safety. Sure sounds like a glorified 1911 to me. The basis for operation is identical and that's all that matters. I've shot plenty of SIG's but never an SA version, which is nothing more than SIG's attempt to steal a piece of the "it has to be single action and 45" market that is America. The classic SIG traditional double action(DA/SA) design was that it was a vast improvement over SA guns with manual safeties. SIG going backwards with the 220SA is just a money grab.

Well, no...not at all. The trigger pull will be different. Bore axis will be different. Weight and balance will be different. Grip will be significantly different. Sight picture will be different.

A single action P220 will be substantially different in many ways than a 1911. If SIG had to be accused of trying to cater to the .45 market it'd be their line of actual 1911s, don't you think?
