It isn't mentioned in the instructions...at least that I can find.
The Mossberg 715t...when the last round it fired and the mag removed the gun is cocked.
Now I know that it isn't good to leave my bolt guns cocked, and of course the trigger can be released without dry firing and damaging the firing pin.
But the Mossberg...the only way to uncock it (as far as I can figure) is to pull the trigger on an empty breech...does this damage the firing pin...or do I store it with the gun cocked?
Yes...I'm a newbie to semi-autos ;-)

Thanks guys...I did think of the spent round/dummy cartridge.
I just wondered if there was some provision like my bolt actions....open the bolt, squeeze the trigger and then close the bolt...something like that.

I switched to the su-22. I loved me mossy but hated the mag release and that it didn't have a bolt hold open. The su-22 has a real mag release, an ok bolt hold open and folds in half.
lt also is ten times easier to clean! No more screws, happy happy joy joy!
That being said, for $300, it's a great starter gun!
