i am well aware its not top shelf quality so lets just skip the badgering lol im just a little curious how this odd looking piece is holding up as far as accuracy and reliability is concerned oh and is that fold out bipod a gimic or does it actually work and not !@#$ out?

I have the su-22. Its little sister. The lower is identical. Works great but the trigger is plastic. Need to replace it! My friend has the su-16 and has had no issues. However he did replace the forend with the stuby from keltec.
It's plastic and he thinks it's junk!
The redlion presision forend is much better but some say they don't ship to canada.
Is this true?

I like mine. Had it for about 3months now, all those naysayers are all AR fanboys...

1. Fires AR mags in 223
2. Non restricted
3. folds in hald to 26 inches - this is a BACKPACK gun
4. weighs 4 lbs.
5. It Just all round awesome. Everyone says: Whats that? then they see AR mags, then they say WHAT?? NON RESTRICTED???? How much?? 800Bux
6. You can buy THREE of these for the Price of an XCR or FOUR for the price of an ACR.

Cons
1. stock sights suck
2. I worry about it breaking at the front takedown pin
3. Factory mags do not hold bullets well.
4. I wish the sight was on the gas block not the end of the barrel.

It aint as accurate as a high end AR, but I love it, and with my vortex sparc red dot it still fits in my back pack.

I've put probably 900 rounds through my SU-16 and no problems with it. I've never had an issue with accuracy either.

It pimps out nicely too. It's wearing a 3-9x40 scope on it which I sighted in last weekend while camping. Non-restricted is such a handy thing.

My shooting buddy had one for 3 months and it was problem after problem of poor quality. Final nail in the coffin was that the receiver cracked. He did get a replacement though. Accuracy was average. If you can live with a restricted, a Norc AR is a way better rifle for the money.

Oh and he ended up way in the hole on it for upgrades. Could have just bought a nicer higher quality rifle in the first place.

*yea I'm the buddy Klenzer spoke of

I had a bad unit the first time. Cracked receiver after a few hundred rounds. Apparently those are all worked out of the factory now. I sold the replacement that they gave me as I have no need for an NR AR-like gun.

Pros:
- takes .223 AR mags / LAR-15 mags woo!
- NR
- very light
- out of factory nice and foldable
- somewhat moddable with foreend and stock
- built in top rail
- for a foldable hollow stock it's comfy
- holds two stock mags in the stock

Cons:
- the stock plastic mags are trash. Toy plastic.
- some early units had flaws resulting in cracked receivers
- does not like cheap Chinese ammo
- takes some bubba-ing for some mods
- foreend 'bipod' is a pure gimmick. But not bad if not deployed
- if you get the AR stock kit -- which is good -- it will not fold completely (and the design of the gun means it doesn't make use of the buffer tube)
- barrel needs to be threaded if you want to put on brakes

If you want a pure range toy then why not get an AR which is hardier, proven and has a bajillion mods? If you do want a plinker, camp gun or coyote gun that you can take out and use AR mags then it's good for the price. The last straw for me was the cracked receiver (improperly drilled bolt carrier group they said), though I take the distributor at their word that it was only a minor lot that had that issue.

I had one for about 300 rounds, it was fun, but, after 5 rounds I had to let things cool down or the shots would start to spray out to the right by 8-10" and start drifting high by 4-6" This was at 100 meters and could be repeated over and over.
Tried a couple different brands of ammo and it was always the same. The first 5 shots from a cool barrel were usually within a 3.5" group, after that they were all over the place. I was wanting something that i could shoot a little more without having to hold off target to compensate for. Tried 2 different red dot sights, tried 4 scopes off of different rifles with the same type of pattern.
Traded it in for a shotgun as it is supposed to shot like that.
It is light, it is a neat little package but my next adventure into NR .223 caliber may well be an AR180, MR1 or possibly a Remington 7615.

I sure liked the LAR mags though.

I had one. I agree with everything he said. I bought all the fancy AR wanna parts for mine. I even put in a red lion precision trigger. I feel all of it was a wast of money. It is what it is and if I ever bought another one I would leave stock and carry it in a back pack the way it was intended to be used. Or, I'd buy a Mini-14. When I sold mine I bought an AR and an XCR instead which is what I should have done in the first place.

I liked it, it was an ok gun but over priced. The barrel is too thin for any sustained shooting. It's a bush gun nothing more. It's black but it's not a black rifle.

My two cents.

Im very happy with mine. Just got back from shooting it with my new Burris AR-332 scope and man was I happy. Tight groups 1-2" at 100 yards my shooting buddy loved it with the new scope. Stock irons are rather cheap and so are factory mags. I like the bi-pod but only in the grass its no good on a bench or hard surface. It will heat up quicly though as others have stated and the groupings will loosen.

- the stock plastic mags are trash. Toy plastic.

I can't believe how ####ty those magazines are. You couldn't even give me another one for free.

I don't mind the rifle, but want an XCR, even though I haven't handled one yet.
I also want a mini14.

They're decent rifles, not worth the price tag they gave them here.
