Is it common for a brand new pistol to come without a mag?

Bah! Hogwash.... Pistols don't need mags, they work with magic and are kept lubed with unicorn tears!

No but really, it should come with at least 1 mag, usually there's some literature that says what is in the box. If it says it should, and the store claims it doesn't, go somewhere else

Mine came with 1 mag. I ordered an extra with the gun. Maybe the mag is already inserted, lol. Just give the dealer a call. I am sure they will rectify the error.

I just wanna see if I'm dealing with a common practice or a shipping error before I contact the store tomorrow. Received a Buck Mark, but no mag to be found, brand spankin' new, from a reputable store. I'm thinking they just made an error and left the mag out while inspecting the contents of the package before shipping it out. Just wanted to hear what you guys thought before I give them a buzz tomorrow. And it wasn't advertised as without a mag but the product page didn't say it came with one either.

Lol, I checked if it was inserted first, then I looked everywhere in the case, even in the slot where the trigger lock is kept and the plastic bag that had the documentation. Finally, I took the shipping box apart just to make sure it wasn't stuck in there somewhere. The mag was nowhere to be found. Already contacted the store and they will ship one my way. Brownells already shipped 2 spares and the "Ultimate Cliploader" (hate the name but love the reputation) this morning.

No it is certainly not common practice, there should be at least one mag with the gun, unless it was specified there is no mag included. I personally think every pistol should have a minimum of two mags included, no matter how much or how little it costs. But that's just me.

I have seen stores take out the extra magazine that originally came with the pistol, so they can sell it to you as an expensive extra.

The store in question does not pull that crap. That was one of the reasons I went with them even though the pistol I ordered is supposed to come with a single mag.. Just wanna support good business practices.

It must be a liberal disarmament plot. Guns are so much safer if we can't actually shoot them. Pretty expensive club though.

Or maybe they're for sale at a range that doesn't like rapid-fire. You can see them all lined up on the firing line, sliding single rounds into the chambers of their 1911s, Glocks, and buckmarks. Fumble, fumble, a-ha, BANG. Fumble fumble...

Quick update.. 8 days after the initial call and promise to ship out the mag, no word from them. I called, nobody picked up, so I e-mailed the store around opening time. Gonna try calling them around closing time tomorrow and praying that my mags from Brownells arrive soon. Range reopens in a week and I'd like to take my new baby out.

I heard back from the store in about 24 hours. It was a shipping error but by Browning. They have been waiting to hear from the manufacturer. In response to my e-mail they shipped out a replacement mag today. S*** can happen with any sale, but so far these guys are handling it OK.
