The new FN P-12 shotgun

I tried for over a month to get my hands on a FN SC1 O/U shotgun. They put me in touch with their Canadian sales rep who is in BC. He told me I could not buy direct and my ONLY Canadian option was a place in Mississauga called MD Charlton. I went in and spoke to them and they are unable to sell weapons to non-military or police. I went back to FN with this information and their response was.

"Hello Sir, Thanks for your interest. For various reasons, we are not active in the civilian business in Canada. Our focus is on armed forces and law enforcement. Therefore I’m afraid that from one OEM’s point of view, there is very little we can do to assist you.
Regards
Stéphane"

I was dissapointed to hear that Canadian sales mean nothing to them.

Another Winchester 1300 derivative, but with what's probably a considerably higher pricetag since its made by FN.

I hope FN throws something in extra if the price is higher, such as a much smoother action.

I imagine the fit and finish is better than on the made in Turkey budget version. There's also features like the cantilever, sights, ability to take choke tubes, and internally chromed mag tube.

Now whether those are worth an extra $350-400 is hard to say without being able to directly compare it to the SXP Defender.

They took the comely Winchester SXP and uglied it up (will probably charge more for it too):

So I suppose this would apply to their SPRs as well?

Either way, it is a pretty crappy attitude by FNH. As for the shotgun, you could maybe buy one on gunbroker.com or gunsamerica.com and then have Clay at Prophet River to import if for you.

It looks like the Turkish version but assembled in Portugal with the FN name. Looks like the barrel is Belgian made at least.

They would have been better off to keep building the old 1300 like they've been doing with the SX3.

I'd take an old 1300 Defender over this any day.
