Well, went to the Manitoba Chapter SCI dinner last night and came home with an antelope hunt for next year in Colorado. I'm pumped! It's going to be a long 12 months waiting for next October to come around. Anyone hunted antelope in Colorado before? Not sure what to expect, will I need snake chaps that time of year? What kind of weather can I expect in the high plains that time of year?

Unless you're hunting in downtown Denver or Pueblo, just about anywhere in Colorado isn't gonna be warm in October.
Average temps during Oct in most places in Colorado range from -1*c to 22*c, but note that Nov stats drop drastically...

Colorado weather in October isn't all that different than what we
experiance here on the Canadian prairies ... and as you know
that can range from almost shirstsleeve to damn near blizzard.
Be prepared ! And practice your shooting from 250 out to 400 !

Just wondering how heavy a sleeping bag I needed to bring as we're staying in a tent camp. Probably taking my A7 chambered in 7mm RM, unless I buy a .257 Weatherby by next spring. Anyone have any good load suggestions for the 7 mm.
I'm already feeling like a kid the night before Christmas and I still have to wait a year! A friend who has hunted with this outfit says there's some real boomers on the property he has access to, and they only take limited amounts of hunters each year. He and his dad got two nice bucks with their muzzleloaders so he figures we have a good chance at a big one with the rifle. If I had more money I'd be scared to go to another SCI Dinner.
