First trip my friend used this ammo he bags a huge fat bull with his brand new Marlin XL7. Here's the recovered 180 gr Interbond.

Went through both lungs, was caught between the ribs on the far side.

Cool, glad it is working for someone.

I bought two boxes last winter for my 257 Roberts to get the brass, out of those two boxes I had 9 fail to fires. Not what I would call "Dependable". And no it wasn't the firing pin as I checked it and it was bang on to the manufactures specs and the primers were hit hard. Never had a a problem since, probably 250 rounds using lots of different primers. When they did fire they were quite accurate though...

Second experience with Hornady SP was sighting in a rifle for a guy a few months back, shot Remington and Winchester with no problems, went to try the Hornady and the first shot locked up the bolt. Not bad but not what I would want to be shooting. Tried another round, same thing and didn't bother shooting any more.

Glad your buddy got his bull! :dancingbanana:

I was thinking of trying the Superformance in a short barreled .308 win, but after hearing of misfires and stiff bolts maybe I'll just stick to handloads.

Ted, any pics of the huge, fat bull?

I know I am not the only one who has had these problems, quite a few other websites telling of similar experiences. I know I wont be buying anymore, I just wanted the brass anyways and my handloads are better ;)

Here is a pic of one that caused the loss of a nice winter coyote(best pic I could get). After the FTF I kept cocking the bolt and pulling the trigger, probably six times. No luck on firing but as you can see, it should have.

Yes Ted, who cares about the ammo, lets see some pics of the bull!!!! :D

Man, you are one unlucky person!

I have been shooting Hornady factory loads for the last 3 years almost exclusively. Different rifles, different calibers, semi and bolt..... A lot of bench shooting too. Not one experience like yours!

Demonical, the moose was about 90 paces away. Not big antlers, but just a huge body, and rolling fat. I was not there when he shot it, but Rick says he dropped on the spot.

You may recall the thread about the goofy velocity in the Superperformance 300 Win Mag ammo. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=760326 Figured I would start this thread to show the field results, but have no idea of the velocity of the '06 stuff.

Boomer, but he just wanted to try some! :D It worked. No snow here yet, but it won't be long.

Will post animal pictures later today.

I didn't see that thread.

No interest in A) Factory Ammo B) .300WM

I do like the Hornady IB. I've had good results with it, in .30-06 & .416RM.

Guess I don't have any pictures of the kill on my camera, but here's one of Rick standing beside a hind.

That's just the hind, not the hind quarter, and he is 6'-3" tall. Notice the sizable hole in the rib cage.

Will have to get pictures of the bull down from Rick.
