Bladetech DOH pointing at my leg?

The only time the gun will be loaded and in your holster is at the start of a stage, and in production your hammer is down/decocked.

The rest of the time it is an empty gun that may be pointing towards your leg.

Hopefully this is just newbie jitters or something, because being scared of your equipment probably isn't the best thing when you are sprinting around a course of fire with a loaded pistol.

Just sayin

millions of people have worn a handgun or revolver on their hip in a holster. IT has pointed at their leg a gazillion times...loaded...unloaded...etc. THe only problem that has occured was the result of a faulty holster..or someone not keeping their finger off the boom button.

In case I was unclear in #5, I don't care that the DOH points at my leg. I find I prefer the speed, position and draw from the hip as opposed to the DOH.

I have no objection to the DOH from a safety point of view

Don't feel bad for bringing up this question because I had the same thought when I got the Bladetech. Only I just assumed that since a site that sells primarily IPSC stuff sold it to me that it would be IPSC legal.

FWIW I draw just fine with it.

Because the gun pointing at your leg in the holster is a problem?

I think he was more talking about how he would like the gun verticle vs with the outward cant.

I like the gun more verticle as well and was going to take a heat gun to my doh spacer to bend it, but getting a race holster so no need now.

The sprinting days are over for some of us, but I get what you mean. :)

apologies if I misunderstood the reason for asking about changing the angle.
if the OP was referring to changing the angle for his preferred draw angle/technique then that's a different story.
Just read a few posts and discussion seemed to venture off into a safety thing.

Tuco pike, if in your mind you are sprinting, then you are sprinting.....regardless of actual speed.
:)

Yeah, I don't like the outward can't or the drop on my holster. No problems having a gun on my hip, just much prefer the vertical orientation over the drop/offset one

Tuco: not interested in trades, and someone also offered to buy the drop piece from me before your MSG

roger that, I agree too on the extreme angle the holster puts the gun at distance from the body wise. Perhaps some enthusiastic person could manufacture a space that is straight instead of angled???? hmmmmmm

my new holster is OK. I don't like the open top to it as it feels less secure to me, so I may actually purchase a regular holster for it to avoid my gun tipping out the front.

draw speed is perfect, and with the DOH attachment removed it feels great, just wish the front was covered
