Got our caribou this August. So much easier than moose that I might just start to concentrate on caribou again. No ibuprofen needed!
Used a nice set of Vortex Viper 8x42's on a tripod with a doubler. I know doublers aren't that great but I found the whole concept pretty useful. My Rem 660 has a new Pac-Nor 6.5 Magnum barrel and this rifle continues it's string of about 2 dozen one shot kills on caribou. Moved up to 140 grain Sierras with the 1-8 twist barrel. The good news is that with 3 more inches of barrel they go about as fast as I use to drive 120's.
Brought my moose prep bag along so used a Victorinox Lamb Skinner for much of the meat work. The skinned design works pretty well for dismembering too.
Whole family along. My son can't wait to go again. More here, from scouting to dancing to shooting to meat processing
