Depends on the make and model. With some guns, dismantling far enough to disable them is a major job - and potentialy could lead to buggered screws or worse.

Many of the economy shotguns, SxS & O/U's, are extractor only. That is one of the ways to reduce the cost and retail price.

Yes, the ejectors can be disabled, but you can't switch back easily or rapidly on most models.

On a Cynergy O/U it's very easy. Others may vary.

I disabled the ejectors and maintained the extractor function on an older Remington SxS. It was a very straight forward process, all the was involved was to remove the forend and remove the springs and a few other bits out the forend... I am sure it depends on the manufacturer as to were and how complex the mechism is...

I have some "little skeeters" I would like to use but cant with auto ejectors. How difficult is it to disable the system?

Why can't you use the Little Skeeters in a breaking gun with ejectors?

The Citori Grand Prix is quickly and easily changed from extractors to ejectors in less than a minute, but it isn't an economy model.

Dont forget to consider when you break open the gun you can place you thumb over the tubes in a very natural way and the shell wont pop out. It take almost no effort and you wont have to modify your gun.

I have no issue doing it but the real reason I want to use them is for lower recoiling smaller gauge shells for my wife to shoot who is not a shooter at all as well my young nephews.

I don't understand this post? Are you suggesting you can use a 20g shell in a 12g if it doesn't have ejectors?

The OP is going to use little skeeter tubes.they are a tube that goes into the chamber that will allow the use of smaller gauge shells in a 12 gauge.

On Beretta Perennia (abd possibly Prevail) models it is very easy to turn ejectors on and off.
(1/4 turn on an exposed screw and it's done.)
