Savage axis problem

So I bought a savage axis in 308 as a cheap back rifle for this hunting season. while sighting it in it was going well for its first 3 shots. Then on the 4th shot there was a problem. The rifle went bang and I can not extract the brass. It is jammed in the chamber and I have pulled and it will not come out. I dont want to break it by pulling to hard. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen or if i happened to just get a lemon?

The obvious questions.
Reloads of factory.
Have a look at the other Cases for signs of high pressure, rotational marks on the case head, brass flow into the ejector plunger bore. Case dia. just ahead of the extractor grove.
Then take it back to where you bought it and exchange it for another one. Make sure you talk to the supplier and let them know that you have a stuck case in the chamber.
They really get their nickers in a twist if you can't open the bolt.

Thanks thats what I am going to do when the place I bought it is open this morning. I dont think its a problem with he ammo. It is cheap factory stuff that i have shot through my m305 with hundereds of rounds with no problems.

By "cheap factor stuff" it would not be of the military kind.
I have seen issues using 7.62 in factory rifles before.

Let us know how you make out.
