HK45c vs HK USP 45c

Hi Everyone,

After calling around a hard decision just got harder. Looking for some opinions on what you would do? Keep in mind this is Canada and we get hosed on the prices.

1) HK USP 45ct with LEM - $1250
2) HK45c with threaded barrel - $1299
3) HK USP 45c with threaded barrel - $1100

Thanks T

Where'd you find those? Are you looking at US sights? The USPct is fairly easy to get here (just need to order from someone)...but your #2 can't be ordered in...only imported.

Id be down for a number 2...possibly more. I have a couple buddies that may be interested.

I dont mind the HK45c...thread protector included?

Is there much of a difference bw the HK 45c and 45ct?

Also we need to get them to try and bring in spare mags for them. I would be down for 6 extras. If all costs were concrete with no surprises.

My bank account is in no hurry tho....ha ha

I do have my HK45 to keep me happy in the meantime.

From what I can find there is not much difference. One is stamped 45C and the other is stamped 45CT. I've got small hands and I use the smaller of the 2 grip inserts. Its my first handgun so I am not an expert with it. I seem to be shooting low on my targets. I ordered 2 shorter HK front sights from Wolverine supply just to see if a different set up would work better.
You can download the HK45 and HK45C user manual from HK USA. It also lists the HK45CT specs.

HK45 and Hk45C user manual

The front sight covers point of impact on the HK45 (e.g. point of impact is not just above the front sight when front and back are aligned). I don't know why. This might be why you were shooting low.

Have to pay for the good stuff, one of the best pistols out there and nobody seems to prove otherwise.

You must be an expert with your "0" Trader Rating. 4 years and never made a purchase at a forum sponsor=Expert.

This guy:

"Over the years I've owned or shot many types of .45ACP pistols. I have always liked the 1911 platform and for years trusted my life with a Colt, Series 70, 1911. I have always carried a Colt Commander as an off duty or concealed carry weapon. My last police job had me carrying an H&K USP .45 ACP. Absolutely the best "out of the box" handgun I ever used. The only duty gun I've ever qualified with that got me a 100% score without having been "tuned up". The gun fit me like a glove and was absolutely reliable. If I was starting my law enforcement career again, I would opt for this gun in a heartbeat.

The H&K is a bit large for a concealed carry gun, so I continued to pack my Colt Commander. Two years ago I retired this 35 year old gun - just wore out. I replaced it with a Kimber Pro Raptor II. I've run about 5,000 rounds through it so far in break in, practice, and competition shooting. No jams in that time, not a one. At longer ranges, i.e., 35 and 50 yards, my Colt Gold Cup will shoot a bit tighter group than the Kimber; I guess the extra inch of barrel on the Gold Cup helps. The Kimber does not take a back seat to any gun I have plus it is just a cool looking gun!

If forced to chose between the full sized H&K USP and the Kimber Pro Raptor II. . ., I'd probably go with the Kimber. I don't carry a duty gun anymore (retired), but do pack a concealed gun."

Or "0". You take your pick.
I was making a joke. Dont get your panties in a bunch. But since your being a #### YES THEY ARE OVERPRICED. My glock 17 got me my black badge and worked great at the few IDPA club nights i went too. All at around half the price of a comparable H&K.

Oh....and if you can afford to buy H&K's you should pick up some midol as well. Keep those hormones in check.

Actually, your post and others like it who bash a brand without any type of proof is really annoying. I wouldn't be rude enough to call someone that ^, but that's how I took your statement. Figured you were a Glock guy... explains it. Many Glock guys love and respect HK's... by the way.

Took you a couple days for a comeback... Too funny. Don't post negative in a thread about people who like HK's, unless you are looking to start a fight, which you did. Your original post was immature. Price is no object to me, I like HK's because they are great pistols with excellent fit/finish. Glocks look like cheap pieces of plastic. I don't jump into "Glock" threads. You can go there and enjoy.

Shooting a 40 and 45 with the recoil reduction system is like shooting a 9mm. HK engineering...

Now go away. If you want to continue to fight, do it by PM, because you are hi-jacking the thread. You have nothing positive to add to the OP's question...

A beauty... My Sig and HK USP 40. Lets get back on track in this thread... I'd buy an HK45 in a heartbeat, might even sell my German Sig 220 to help finance it! USP 40 is a big gun, USP 45 is even bigger.

$1000+ for a polymer gun. There is your proof. I never said they were a poorly performing pistol i just said there overpriced. I made a joke about it and referenced another article posted previously. I havent been to many IPSC/IDPA shoots but the few ive been to I never saw an H&K.

And if your such a fanboy you could actually reference it properly. Last time I checked its Heckler AND Koch. Hence why I add the "&" in there. You should read the "Because you suck and we hate you" article. Its pretty funny. I didnt mean to hi-jack the thread. I was just cracking a joke. No need to get offended

I am a Glock, HK AND Sig guy.

They all have their place and they all fill a certain niche perfectly.

HK by far the best made and engineered.
Sig is the greatest 9mm out there, hand down.
Glock is the honda of pistols. Cheap, reliable, TONS of parts.

$700 glock vs $970 USP... not that much difference for a something that has been praised... not much more than a Sig 226. Can't keep the HK45 in stock in the States. Selling like wildfire. Does that tell you something?

Glocks have been praised more than any H&K firearm ever will be. And Ford Pinto's and Pontiac Sunfires also sold like wildfire. So no your post does not tell me anything. But ill stop now and you can have the last word and all of you H&K guys can call me a ### and block me. Sorry to hi-jack.

Seriously? You guys realize you're arguing about nothing right?

This is like saying red is better than blue.....completely subjective!

btw, I'd be in for an HK45c if the barrel thread protector is included and I can get my mitts on at least 3 extra mags....:p

Because not everyone can afford HK...LOL

Well, i'm one of those guys that "can't afford it" but i picked it up anyway. You only live once. And ever since i watched Collateral, i just had to get one some day. Imagine my disappointment to discover it is too big for my little man hands.:(
