Imbel 97LC

Hi, any chance if the Imbel 97LC getting in? It looks like a scaled down FN, but uses a bolt that is very similar to the AR. The LC version is a semi-auto only version built for police forces.

I could see it being an issue, the feds might consider it a variant of the FAL. But if they don't I'd be down for one!

The new listing is not on the RCMP site yet but I don't see this firearm on any of the old prohib or banned lists. Have the company who makes these change the name to CUTE AS A KITTEN on the side of the gun, just for the Canadian market. You never know!

It's based off a gun that is based off the FAL.

Considering the RCMP use the whole variant thing like Stretch-f*cking-Armstrong, I doubt it would pass muster.

It uses an AR style (rotary) bolt, and was built as a semi.

The same question was asked a while back about the MD-2 rifle, which uses the same AR type bolt. Canada Ammo apparently had already asked the FRT lab about it and was told it's a variant.
