So I had a chance to get out this afternoon once work was finished and play a little bit more with my "new to me" rifle.

I picked up several boxes of ammo to see what I would like best, headed out to the camp, and set up.

The ammo in question:

CCI Quiet 22
Federal Bulk 525
CCI Velocitor
CCI Stinger

I sighted in with Federal (cause I had lots of that ;) ), played around a bit, and just get used to the rifle. Including sending some bulk rounds, quite accurately to 80y and100y on 4" square steel targets. (hard to see but they are there)

After I was comfortable, I moved to the test target I had set up at 50meters

I am no shooter by any means, but I keep consistent groups, not necessarily super tight.

All in all it was a fun day, and I think the ammo I will be picking up from now on will be Velocitor for "serious" shooting and the 525 for a day FULL of plinking.

Mine likes blazer brick ammo(10x50rnds). Shoots the bulk blazer alright but not great(500 jumble pack). Also does well with 555, xpert, and SK standard plus. Hates Eley stuff. I actually think when I get around to testing it again on a calm day I'll be shooting under 1" @100 with the blazer. Currently the std+ is my silhouette ammo for it as it's consistently about 1" @100m.

Wow, nobody else had a comment? I didn't even get mocked for something, man CGN must be sick this week! ;)

It's hilarious using the CCI Quiet 22 as you can see the arc it makes, I tried shooting it today at about 80yards, but it was dropping to hard to fast right out of the view through the scope.

I too, was at the range yesterday, testing low priced 22 ammo. I was using a Brno #5 Sporter, on the pistol range at 50 yards.
I found a part box of Federal Champion, enough for three five shot groups. I don't know if they still make these or not, but they proved to be the best yesterday. The white squares in the targes are one inch and the Fed Ch. averaged less than .5 inch for the three groups.
The American Eagle 40 grain solid has been pretty good, but the 38 grain hollow point not that good.
Blazer has been my standby, but so often has a flyer. I can't find any of the standard velocity CCI, but would sure get them if I could.
Here are the results.
The reason some groups are a bit higher is because I experimented with putting some pressure, like a piece of 22 shell box, under the barrel of the Brno. Results not completely clear, but I am going to try a better pressure media, with a bit less pressure and try it.
