870 No Jam Follower ?

Your vintage Wingmaster has probably gone it's entire life without a jam. From what I have seen on the no jam followers they just have an extra large chamfer on the leading edge to make the transition from an extension to the mag tube. I have 4 wingmasters, all with mag extensions no no jam followers and never a problem. That said, they are cheap, so if you feel the need.

I personally like the hi-viz orange or green ones from say S&J Hardware, they're much thicker (solid piece of Delrin) and longer than the stock follower which is hollow & flimsy.

I'd stick with metal. Over time the shell latches chew up the edge of a synthetic follower, and causes them to bind in the tube. I have a Vang Comp steel follower in my 870, but it requires your magazine to have the dimples removed.

People say the stainless steel ones from Brownells are good, I've been using the aluminum ones from Brownells for years and they're flawless through thousands of rounds.

These are well made and at a good price. just add one to your next order. ~ $16

All are good followers. The only time I find the plastic/polymer/delron etc ones to have issues is when people drill out the dimples in the mag tube and make the hole to big. Sometimes they catch when the metal ones won't....but thats just from my experience.
