Hi everyone,

maybe someone can help me, are there any parts made by Sig that will reduce the double action trigger pull on a P226 but still keep it in Production (IPSC). I know CZ have some was wondering if sig had the same, was looking around last night but cant seem to find anything except Wolff springs ( and im pretty sure that would pull me out of production).

Any input would be appreciated. the model i have right now is a P226 tac ops in 9mm (with SRT).

Thanks

(oh and im not planning to switch guns anytime soon  )

From my experience (very limited) shooting IPSC since February. As long as the part is from the manufacturer, it can be swapped out and you can still remain in production.

As for what parts will aid you, I have no idea, sorry. Maybe have a look here and figure out if anything can be of use: hxxp://www.sigsauer.com/SigStore/ShowProduct.aspx?categoryid=29

For my Beretta 92A1, swapping out the trigger spring helped my DA pull a lot.

If there are any production div. legal spring/trigger SIG upgrades beyond the SRT kit I don't know of them. Wolf springs are not prod. legal and in any case light mainsprings can sometime lead to light primer strikes.

You are allowed to weaken the stock springs as long as they aren't cut:

I shot a 226 for 4 years IPSC & IDPA. After lots of use, the double action came down to about 8-9lb and the SRT single action is about 4-4.5 lb. I beat many CZ Shadow users over that time, it just takes practice!

thanks for the info, personally the DA on it doesn't bother me enough to not use it, event at 10lbs but every little bit helps :)

Cut the mainspring who is going to check. At the Ontario Provincials they did not care as long as it made the 5 pound minimum. I asked the R.O. checking the trigger weights and that was his response. Or better yet buy a CZ.

Why, do you not know how to use a pair of sidecutters?

Butcher.

Don't cut springs. Get factory orginal springs, if you can't find ones in the weight range you want, practice more. I have no problem with the stock double action trigger pull on a normal trigger German P226.
