I'm going to be bedding a Norc M305. I have done one in a 45acpKing clinic so I should know what 'm doing Laugh2. I've got all the components ready but the only thing missing is this: after bedding the receiver with barrel the rifle gets flipped over and the receiver is set in but not all the way clamped. A rod is used to set the trigger assembly and trigger guard just so with a pin/rod to keep it there. What size pin/rod is used? I'm thinking a 1/4" drill bit. Am I wrong?
Thanks

I just use a brad nail or possibly an allen key 1/16" diam. Sometimes I get lucky and use a fence staple (you prairie dudes know what I'm yakking about). Recently I just took a 2" Brad nail and bent it with a vise to form a 1/2" radius ID. That horseshoe shaped staple holds the trigger guard in semi-closed position and the safety in rear ward position. Likely the only time I ever used a safety on an M14.... :D

 Hold on... we did use the M14 safety this summer out West in 70 Mile House; Lone Butte Range and then in Fort McMurray GC like this:

"Safeties on, safeties on. At the whistle, move to the next PINK line." Remember that one?

Cheers,
Barney
